Studies

Our lesson continues with money, bartering, and making a budget.  Our quiz will be on Friday, February 15th.  Please help your child be successful by studying their blue DOSS sheet nightly. 

Math

This week we will continue our Finding Fair Shares unit. The lessons will focus on the following:  

1. Students identify halves, fourths, eighths,

thirds, and sixths of a 4x6 rectangle and discuss how many square units each shaded part takes up.  For example,  of the square units are shaded which is equivalent to  .

2. Identifying relationships between fractions when the denominator is a multiple of the other (e.g., halves and fourths, thirds and sixths)

There will be NO math quiz this week.

Science

We are beginning a new unit of study on plants.  As we move through our unit, the students will learn about how plants grow and change.  This will help the students understand how the plants they see every day in their neighborhood are able to live, grow, and make new plants.
