Social Studies
There is no Social Studies lesson or quiz this week!
Math
This week we will continue our Perimeter, Angles, and Area unit. The lessons will focus on triangles, quadrilaterals, and angles:
1. Identifying the attributes of triangles and quadrilaterals: the # of sides, vertices, and angles.
2. Comparing the properties of squares and rectangles
3. Comparing the sizes of angles: 90°=right angle, >90°=obtuse angle, and <90°=acute angle
*We will have a quiz on Friday. To prepare for this quiz students should review pages 37-53 in their math workbooks (only the sheets that were completed in class).
Science
On Tuesday, 12/11, we have our end of unit assessment on the Properties of Matter. The students should know how to measure & compare the temperature, mass, & volume of various solids & liquids. They should be able to compare materials & objects according to their physical properties such as size, shape, color, texture, & hardness. They should also be able to describe the changes water undergoes when it changes state through heating & cooling by using familiar terms such as melting, freezing, boiling, evaporation, & condensation. Please help your child be prepared for the assessment by studying workbook pages 99-113, your child's Science Journal (with study guides glued in), & the blog.
